Yes I agree with John.  Get out your Sencore scope (only one made that can
look at the hot collector safely) and interrogate the 900 volt pp pulse.
Does it look nifty with no ringing and especially width/timing has to be
right on the money (12us) because it's ususally the duration of the timing
that makes it overheat.. I have the Sencore HA2500 Horizontal Analyzer that
makes quick work of this kind of horseshit . That thing is worth every dime!
