Might try going a step up on amp rating to see if this will let it run cooler
also.

Phil,
I had this very same problem with a CTC 187 chassis. Don't know if it will
be of any help on the CTC197 or not. Check to see if the HOT runs hotter
than normal to the touch, if it does I had to replace Horiz. Driver
Transformer (#215541) and C4306 (#188594) to solve shorting of HOT. Remember
these part #'s are for a CTC187 chassis.
