David, have you ever tried hot swapping the eeprom to get the data from the
original eeprom to enter into the new eeprom? I'm assuming the set won't
turn on must be why you are replacing it. All you need is an 8 pin socket to
install, plug in the new eeprom, turn the set on, pull the new eeprom and
insert the original then read all the data through the service menu. This
doesn't always work but quite often does.
