[TechAssist] Re: Audiovox 19" AVT-1980, chassis CN-100B dead

The last Audiovox daewoo I had in that was in a motor home had just broken
loose the connections on the regulator, on that set they just placed their
label over the daewoo label, the original daewoo model was still on it too.
As you said it was just beat to death.

19" AVT-1980, chassis CN-100B dead, only would click, workssometimes.

Well, I understand from another email it really is a Daewoo model
DTQ2040FC. The STR30130 looks original. I wonder if a warranty repairman
maybe put in a 30130 which of course outputs at 130VDC instead of your
part at 110VDC. But I can't see it working like that these years. I
could "buy" a Q801 failure, or electrolytic in the PS. I tapped the
chassis and saw an arc in the picture when I tapped the relay. Bad
contacts?

Phil,
According to Winstips, that set uses STR30110 regulator (I801). For
shutdown, says check for leaky Q801.

This is in a motor home. Vibration issues? I carefully inspected board,
no solder problems seen. Customer
says it
will just click when power pushed. It did that here. then I pushed
several times more, once the high voltage came up, but shut down.
Sounded like HV was excessive (just a guess from past experiences),
pushed again and is working now.
Uses an STR30130 Vlt. reg.
Antone have experience with this model? Repair histories on these?
Thanks.
