Not quite, Phillip.

I have fixed many boards that were damaged by a power surge, where a
trace was blown and the MOV shorted.  Also, some manufacturers will sell
the standby transformer separate.  A few others I've been lucky to find
bad semicondutors or burnt resistors.  You are right about the
schematics.  Never have seen one.

Getting to be a mute point.  Think I fixed only about six countertop
uwaves this year.  Even the built-ins are getting replaceable, and they,
for the most part, are hard to work on.  Not hard, but time consuming.
