[TechAssist] Akai projo PTH5498: convergence Question

We repaired an Akai convergence output today was a STK392-040, this unit
appears to be made by samsung.
first question , do the STK's on this model run very hot, too hot to touch. I
notice the very large heat sinks they use.
second the owners manual said this set has 9 point convergence but it only
allows me to adjust the center and will not go into outer edge adj mode. anyone
experience this on this model.
does anyone have the convergence align proceedure for this set.
