Unless you are a purist, you can replace the rectifier tubes with solid
state. Most convenient to build the silicon rectifiers into a tube base to
plug it in. Output voltage will be higher than from the tube, for good or
bad.

Subject: [TechAssist] Admiral B/W 20Y1

>
> I know that most of you are stumped by the subject line but this is a 1949
12" B/W tv in a solid mahogany cabinet that I purchased off of ebay a couple
of days ago. Set had horiz. sync way out of line and vertical pull up. I got
the horiz. and the vert. working ok but high voltage is low do to a weak
1x2b rectifier tube, (It blooms) also, it has a focus knob on the front. A
very good picture comes up with audio but is slightly out of focus (probably
do to low high voltage). The picture tube checked weak but came up very
nicely after rejuvenating it. This sets cabinet is in mint condition. I'm on
here in search for a Sams photofact, a 1x2 or 1ax2 and a couple of 6au4's.
Any other old time repair shops around that still may have these? TIA
