They cant afford to make that kind of stuff in Japan anymore! Probably comes
from a company that farms the assembly out to cottage industries on an
island somewhere where most of the work is done by the kids by hand while
mama cooks and papa farms. Its the traditional Asian way. I bought a bunch
of pinch rollers once where the bearings were anywhere instead of just in
the center. Obviously nobody involved from beginning to end had the
slightest idea of what the assembly was supposed to look like.
Hopefully the company that farms the work out does some sort of testing and
quality control but from the complaints it must be very spotty.
