Hi Dennis, Not sure how tape is recorded at the factory but at alot of industry schools i've been to always referred to the tape being optically recorded. I don't believe the tape has touched metal before you put it in your vcr.. Can you imagine how long it would take to record all the tapes out there in the world? No its a manufacturing process. I have some book somewhere that has a description about it. See if I can find it. In the meantime have a nice Thanksgiving! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dennis Viereck" <wa6ati@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, November 22, 2001 12:32 PM Subject: [TechAssist] Re: AC head adj. > Ray > In your response you made reference to a specific tape, "Must be an > optically recorded tape " I have never heard of this type of tape.
