[TCUG] Re: SRL Traffic Systems 'PEDLIGHT'

R.e. 'pedlight'

We have recently stumbled across a similar system to this 'pedlight' being
used in Cornwall by utility contractors. A company caller Amberon supplied
it. I have got photos if anyone is interested. The contact is David Burnett
on 07973 140226 apparently he has stated it is type approved. We are in two
minds about this as it would be useful when taking ped crossings out of use
however the type approval, legality and basic safety and operational issues
are up in the air.

Sounds suspect to me Tony.

One wonders about the statutory advertising required, the approval
status, the obstructions to vehicles/pedestrians..................

I have not even seen a brochure.
Any website address?

Have just been sent the catalogue of SRL portable signals.

The accompanying letter highlights how their 'PEDLIGHT' system can
provide benefits at permanents.

The accompanying photograph, however, shows a far side RM/GM unit
mounted on a portable 'radio' trailer but with a N/S (AGD?) ped call
box!

Anyone any experience of using/seeing these in action??
