Mass Monkey Loft
---------------
Boost a monkey skydiver (Crazy Tugs dog chew toy from Costco) in a large
diameter rocket using a low impulse motor
to 800-1000'. You can stuff a pretty good sized monkey in a 7.5”
airframe. The rocket and monkey come down on separate
parachutes. The award is for the most impressive Monkey recovery on a
parachute.
I will post this next week, then vendors can decide what they want to
support and how. I"m still also open to people
coming up with new ideas... Eric's is an original one for sure :-)

If that’s right, then I think we should be good to go. Would we just
bring a list of all the motors in the drag race and a total of N-s when we
check in for pad assignments?

Standard HPR pads are at *300* feet, this lets you fly H-L without a
second rack for HPR.
At LDRS, we'll move L fliers to the away cell if it is busy, else we
have to shut down LPR.
Plan is to fly model rockets while loading HPR, or fly HPR while loading
away.
So it will be a *deluxe* setup.
Aaron is reviewing the range setup and we should be able to post them
soon with more detail

How about a Mass Monkey Loft?
Last week at a LUNAR launch, I boosted a monkey skydiver in my
Warlock, and it was a lot of fun. You can stuff a pretty good sized
monkey
in a 7.5” airframe. Mine was a Crazy Tugs dog chew toy from Costco, 3 for
$13. He folds up small but is 18” long when stretched out. I used a very
small motor for this size rocket to keep it low so you could watch the
monkey start his jump — H295 to only about 600’. For added drama, the
monkey had a Chute Release so he could get a 400’ free fall and deploy
his
chute at 200’. The crowd at the launch seemed to really enjoy it.

Is anyone up for a drag race with monkey payload? If you have a
Warlock or Doorknob or any other large diameter rocket, this chew toy is
a
great fit and easy to set up. Personally, I think the super low flight
was
funny in its own way too, but that and the chute release could be up to
the
choice of each individual monkey. It’s mostly about seeing the
parachuting
monkeys, so if we could do the drag race on the closest bank of HPR pads,
it would be best. If we could get a few people interested in this, I
think
it could be more fun than a barrel of monkeys!
