Not ultra rare; just expensive, plus Hazet no longer makes them.  The list
price
when new was about $1,700.  Nice used ones go for about $500-600.  Guy in
Germany is advertising some new ones on e-bay (NOS I guess) for $840 shipped
world wide.  The one I had at Fredericksburg I sold for $700.  They pop up on
e-bay fairly frequently but shipping is a problem.  The things are heavy and I
figure would cost around $100 to ship Fed Ex or UPS.  The guy advertised
shipping cost of $50.  I paid him his asking price of $400 + the shipping of
$50.  He had never sold on e-bay before and I think he was shocked when he went
to ship and found out how much it was really going to cost and just backed out
of the deal.  He didn't even communicate with me that he was backing out.  I
just got a message from Paypal indicating that the guy had refunded my $450
with
a note saying he didn't want to mess with shipping.
