Jeff, I think that's the way it is with a 1600 engine, mine is a 1600 DP and I put a bigger jet in the pict 34 (130mm) didn't run any better (maybe a little cooler). When I get the new engine in my bus, I'll let you know how it runs the hills (inviting myself over to Austin here :) ) but I think your bus should runs hills a little better, don't you have reduction boxes? That's make a huge difference with splittles other than that I think we need to look at a 1776 with Dual carbs to stomp on the hills. Trey ----- Original Message ----- From: ATX BUS To: TCB TCB Sent: Tuesday, May 27, 2008 2:07 PM Subject: [tcb] the Hills I have a carb/gear/tire question. Running a 1600 single port. Any opinions on size of carb out there? I am currently running a 30 pict 1. It runs great in the realitively flat stretchs but really doesn't power much up a hill. I live in W Austin and there are hills between me and any where I go. I have the stock 14s, would smaller tires help? Maybe the answer if alpine gears? If so how much would performance suffer on flat ground. Jeff ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG.
