it's enough of a leak to be concerned with, 60 mile drive (round trip) and the back of the bus is coated in oil...that's unacceptable. i've done everything according to the book too, that's why i don't understand why it does that. something i left out of my original post is i have a dog house set up so i have twice the seals and twice the areas for a leak because of that, but love my cooling so don't want to sacrifice that. oh well, i'll see what i can do tonight i guess. We have finally learned Denis something. He actually said "fix it right." --- On Tue, 4/14/09, Denis <coocoo@xxxxxxx> wrote: From: Denis <coocoo@xxxxxxx> Subject: [tcb] Re: oil cooler seals and emails To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Tuesday, April 14, 2009, 8:24 AM OK, I'll respond. Brian, leave stuff alone. Fix it once, do it right and live with the result. How big a leak are you talking about? I think that all split case engines leak. As long as there is a seam, they will leak. You are talking about leaking at the stock oil cooler? I don't think that I have replaced that seal in 10 years. If I did I don't remember it. But I'm old, I often don't remember what I just said. We are talking about a basic 1600 upright engine? So, fix it right, use the right part and use a book or something, and it should be OK and you can go work on your roof. ----- Original Message ----- From: Brian Denning To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, April 14, 2009 8:08 AM Subject: [tcb] oil cooler seals and emails why is it that everytime i replace oil cooler seals it seems as though i have to pull the motor a month later and replace them again, then everything doesn't leak after that. what am i doing wrong???? also, i still don't get emails from mark or denis, so if either one of you have an answer to my problem please, please cc my email in your response, i'm tired of having to pull the motor once a month.
