Depending on the age of the engine, this can occur during high engine temps.  This is especially true during summer.  You can install a higher pressure relief spring, but I'd also as has been mentioned, look at a 26mm pump.  Also my preference is to run a synthetic oil, yeah I know but it works for me.  I run a 15-40 Castrol Syntec right now in all my AC Vws.  The Drivers get a 10W-40 in the winter around here.

Subject: [tcb] more bus woes

I was driving the bus around tonight and I had very little oil pressure (to where the VDO oil gauge drops to like 5 to 0  and the oil light comes on......happens when I come up to a stop sign or red light) .... not good

Came home and changed the oil.  I always pull the ignition wire on the distributor and crank the engine 5 or 6 times to prime the pressure , could not get the oil light to go out in doing this like all the other times before.....

I'm getting worried something is wrong here....

Any ideas?

Trey

PS  the engine started, the oil plug is on the engine too......
