IMO it would be really, really strange for a Canadiana conversion to be
way down here in Arkansas.

The best thing to look for in a camper conversion is a sticker with the
companies name. Many of them are on the bulkhead behind the passenger
seat. If it is not there, get ready to begin the hunt. There is a
really good thread on the Samba about these conversions. I have spent
some time researching my 67, and honestly don't think I have seen
anything with the window configuration of your 58. However the windows
can be misleading, so don't use them as your only criteria.

The codes from the VW factory wouldn't have camper/panel conversion
info unless it happened at the factory.

Has it called you a "hoser"? If it has, it's from Canada. :p

Contact that owner maybe?

i've been told that 1958 is to early for m-codes, but is there anywhere
on the bus that will show me where the bus came from originally?

reason i'm asking, there's a 61 bus on the bus hunting thread on
the samba that has teh exact same windows cut into it as my 58, that
bus came from vancouver canada and is now in nova scotia, now i'm
wondring if it was a canadian camper conversion that not many folks
know about, and am trying to find more info. anyone care to take a stab
at it???
