Take a ball peen hammer and flare the end slightly with a philips screwdriver .
Just slightly a tap is all it takes.
Tap the pipe back into the carb and use jb weld around the base where the pipe
goes in.

that's the side of the road method .

The best way is to remove the carb then top and float seat.

Go to the autoparts store and get a male pipe fitting. As i recall a m8 will
work. Tap install and go.

Another way is to clean, flux and braze the pipe back onto the carb top.

I color myself fortunate on this one-- on my way to Psychoblooie, just 20 miles
nort of tAustin. I lose power and the smell of gas over takes my bus. Pulled
over and gas is spilling all of my engine. Grab the fire extinguisher,
disconnect the battery. NO FIRE, thank goodness!

It turns out the brass fitting that inserts into the left side of the carb came
loose with the fuel line still connected. So here is the question. How do I
fix this?

I made it back home. I will stay here tonight and figure out where to go from
here.
