I have a chrome air cleaner. I run a hose way longer than it should be so I can
route it in a way that avoids that 90 degree kink just before it connects to
the aircleaner.

i think it was a combination of a maybe partially kinked hose and rushing home
to bail my pickup out of mechanics jail.

when i say rushing i mean 65 on the interstate with a head wind. i am going to
check the hose when i get home though that might have alot to do with it.
