While you got the engine out make sure none of it is on the clutch disc. Might be a good idea to just replace the clutch disc anyway while you are there. --- On Tue, 7/29/08, Brian Denning <i_am_cool_fred@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: From: Brian Denning <i_am_cool_fred@xxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [tcb] i figured out what happened to my old transmission To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Tuesday, July 29, 2008, 8:29 AM as you may recall it started popping out of fourth on my way home from denis' house. it got so bad i was having to hold it in gear going up hills. well, i pulled the old transmission off the motor last night...evidently the input shaft seal went out in it the bell housing was full of a deep dark greenish grey stuff. the starter was covered in it as well. the throwout bearing had it on there too. to confirm the theory i checked the fluid in the transmission...it had very little in it. CHECK YOUR TRANNY FLUID!!!!! but thanks to sammie i've got a new transmission mounted and will be putting fluid in it tonight. _________________________________________________________________ Use video conversation to talk face-to-face with Windows Live Messenger. http://www.windowslive.com/messenger/connect_your_way.html?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_WL_Refresh_messenger_video_072008
