Sounds good, I used 1" so the two 1/2"s should fit. I am not sure if there is
room on the sides for the extra foam but sounds like a good idea. if it wont
fit you can cut the sides off.

thanks for the responses folks. so, here's what i'm thinking...use hogrings to
attach burlap or sailcloth to frames, then use spray adhesive? to attach a
layer of 1/2" foam over just the top surface, then another layer of 1/2" foam
that wraps all of the way down the sides, then a layer of batting/dacron if
necessary, then replace the string in the covers with wire, set covers in sun
for 10 minutes, strip them over padding and pull tight, bend down tabs, install
in bus, and cruise 'till the wheels fall off!(no time soon, i hope!). did i
miss anything important? i am well stocked on frosty libations!...

Abe     also know that you can undercut the foam , so the foam will roll over
the top & be smooth on the sides  . Dacron ( comforter filling ) can go over
the outside of everything . It will compress to make everything smooth without
adding much height . almost no added size .   my .02           terry

Abe you cut the foam about 1 inch big and glue to burlap. The burlap goes on
the springs and then you pull the covers down over tight, extra hands are good.
Keep pulling and stretching untill the cover is fitting/looking right and hook
the tabs, tie the cords. You are done sir.

yes, it's a walk thru, and i have TMI covers, was planning on using foam rather
than the "horsehair"pads, but i've never seen how people attach and trim the
foam. i really wanted to just maybe watch someone go through the process, never
having done it before.

Abe:  What type of seats?  Are we talking about your SO-42 and is it a walk
through?  Do you have the TMI covers?  Did you get your materials from WW?  I
have recently done two sets of walk throughs for the 65-67 type walk through
and can answer questions.  Also have several pictures of seats in my gallery on
theSamba.com.  Look under the gallery for bugcollections as the poster/author.
