You'll find all modern RVs and Trailer have CO detectors now, even for the 
external air heat and stoves.  I'm just concerned about having any combustion 
process "inside the vehicle"

That's why I was looking at the Eiberspacher's... They have draft in/exhaust 
outside of the vehicle.  The heat comes off of a radiant coil.  There's also 
the fluid based heat transfer systems (a reverse oil cooler) but the engine 
would need to be running.
