I was driving my bus this afternoon ( how nice it was ). When I
noticed my alt. light was flickering at low speed.....aha, I thought loose
belt. At my next stop I checked it and it was a little loose. I took out a
couple shims and thought that would solve the problem,,,,,not. The belt is
tight and the light still comes on. I revved up the engine to 2500 to 3000
rpms and the light shut off. The light continued to stay off for a couple
minutes even at low rpm and the started to stay on again at low rpm. I have
an internal regulated alternator. The wire to the dash has several splices
in it and the female connector on the alternator was a little loose, so I
squeezed it tighter. still the same problem.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm thinking a short in the sending
wire .
