No, I just put in a new harness. I would suspect that we would only have to replace a little bit of wire. I think that it was a blower fan that caused the problem. We'll see. ----- Original Message ----- From: Mark Sawyer To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, February 23, 2006 8:29 AM Subject: @WL [tcb] Re: $WL Re: Uh oh Does wire need to be replaced or just put back in place? I do have a salvaged wiring harness somewhere in the garage. Denis Dodson <coocoo@xxxxxxx> wrote: Thanks. I use the diagram from VintageBus. I can always use help. What would a road trip be without someone having electrical problems? Bring your wiring diagram. Lots of stuff and more to do,but I can only do so much before I leave for Galveston. I have the fuel gauge out and am clea ning it. I get distracted. I don't remember why, but I turn on the key. SMOKE POURS FROM UNDER THE DASH. I turn off the key but the smoke continues, I feel under the dash and grab the hot wires to yank them,th en dash to the rear to disconnect the battery, WHERE IS THE %^&@#! KEY FOR THE ENGINE HATCH? I calm enough to go to the toolbox for a proper sized screwdriver and get in and disconnect the battery. There are people in the world who can't wear watches. Something in their body makes the watches malfunction, no one knows why. There are people in the world that can play piano perfectly without a single lesson, no one knows how. Me, I cause underdash electrical fire. No one knows why. The damage is apparently minimal, I have to figure out where the wires I yanked go. But Murray starts and the rad io works, and really, what more does a person need? I'll be back at it about 7 AM for the final push to get out of h ere. You know the way the pioneers used to say "California or bust"? Well, my motto is "Galveston or maybe not".
