So you went back with Kadrons even after having a fire with them? Just
asking....
Also, what I have realized over the past 5 or 6 years is that the nice
braided lines that is maked made in Germany will *not* stand up to
ethanol.
On several of my cars.
Was talking with a non VW friend about it and pointed out that
They *don't* have ethanol in Europe! Yes, I know everyone is gonna say
that they are probably using US spec braided line, but my experience is
otherwise. I have started replacing all of mine with the ugly gross
american stuff, but did buy proper 6mm line off of Amazon specifically
made for a bmw. Haven't installed it yet...It looks better than the
American line, but still not braided.

I scraped and chiseled and sanded and stripped all the fire damaged and
destroyed stuff, saved what I could, scrounged what I
had and bought some stuff.
We split the case to inspect and clean out all the bits of destruction that had
fallen in where the fuel pump used to be. Things
inside were surprising clean and in good shape. Danny and Derrick at Way Out
did rings and opened up the new heads to match the
90.5 cylinders. They built the engine. My job was, basically, to sand blast
pretty much full time.
That tin is the original that used to be chrome.
All I have to do now is brakes (all burnt up), new electrical harness
(salvaged, thanks, Way Out!), oil lines, gas tank ( thanks
Way Out!) and every other damn thing, including seats, etc. Jeez! Then the body
work!
So, Murray has a beating heart now, and that is a big start.
I am trying to send pictures but Microsoft...grrrrr.
