Air bypass blocked?  Have you cleaned (de-gunked) the throttle body?  Also is the timing within spec at Idle?  Any vacuum leaks perhaps?

Subject: [tcb] Vanagon Mechanic in Texas

Well, I'm about to give up trying to solve my rough idle problems with my Vanagon.  I adjusted and replaced just about everything I can think of.

Are there any good Vanagon Mechanics in Texas?  Brent, what about your dealership?   The guys near Arlington, German.....?

I have either adjusted or replaced:
  1. AFM w/Signal Filter Circuit built in - did fix the hesitation on take off problem
  2. Throttle stabilization valve
  3. Throttle control unit
  4. O2 sensor
  5. Injectors - did fix the black smoke problem
  6. temp 2 sensor
  7. cleaned grounds, replaced ground strap
  8. cleaned all electrical connections
  9. ECU - with spare I bought at the VW classic - actally made a Van-CAFE ECU monitor, but it doesn't help.
  10. Throttle position switch

Any ideas?

Ronnie
