The function of fuel load on the 34 pict three isn't dependent upon size.  Lots of folks run 1776 engines with that carb.  Just don't expect it to rev above 6000RPM..
you may have to richen up the idle jet but that's about it.

I thought about the pict 34 also.  The engine is a 1776 so I'm not sure if the stock carb would provide enough fuel.

I didn't change out the master cylinder so that's probably next on my list.

Thanks

Subject: [tcb] Two Questions??

1.  The brakes on my single cab - the pedal goes down more than half way before the brakes start stopping.  I've bled them and don't see anymore air.  I haven't pushed the pedal on a mechanical, non-disc brake system in a long time so I don't know if this is normal or not.  If you hold pressure on the pedal, it does not gradually go down.  Any suggestions?

>>> Sounds like you have worn rubber lines or a master cylinder that needs rebuilding.   Especially with the pedal gradually going down.  I've had that happen just prior to the Master Cylinder going out.   I'd check the hoses as well.

2.  The engine came with a Weber progressive carb.  Not sure of the jetting, etc.  The engine starts up, but the choke (butterfly) stays completely closed for a long time.  The choke has a connector on it and I assume it needs 12 volts off the coil???  The engine seems to be running rich.  How in the heck do you adjust the idle screw and mixture screw?  From what I can tell, they are both on the back side next to the doghouse cooler.  Comments?

>>> That's why I avoid those carbs like the plague.  Yes, 12V on the coil + wire will do it for the choke.  As for mixture and idle speed, needlenose pliers and deft fingers.   If it were me, I'd bail that or trade it for a 30/31 pict or 34 pict 3 setup.  Sans that any other single or dual carb setup except the 32/36 DFEV(AV).

Looks like the steering box is shot.  There was no oil in it.  Big time clunk anytime you change directions.  Tried tightening the slack, but no luck.

Getting closer for the first real road trip, but probably need to be able to steer and stop before I drive too far.

>>> Cool  stopping is a good thing, at least make sure the e-brake cables are adjusted and the system works.  Single circuit master cylinder stopping can be such fun.  I had a hard line in my 59 23 Window go out back in 2004 after getting gas in Mobile (coming back from Bulli Brigade).  I was putting my wallet back in my pants and had the foot on the brake.  Whoosh down to the floor it went.  3 hours
in an O'Reilly's parking lot trying to bend up a hose inside the drum.  Brake fluid everywhere.. After that trip, dual circuit... The only single circuit vehicles I have now are the 54 Kombi and the 52 zwit.

See everyone in a few weeks.

Ronnie
