I think the studs are too long, they won’t tighten down enough to hold the
stock wheel.

Sorry about the flat Denis. I had two flats on my trip to Eureka as well as a
broken windshield. One flat on the tow truck and one on the trailer. Also a
broken windshield on the Chevy tow truck. Unusual broken windshield; driving
down the highway in northeast TX, no vehicles in front and no vehicles
approaching; one highway worker on one side of the road running a weedeater and
another on the other side. Just as I passed them, wham, a rock hits the
windshield and I now have a 4 foot crack running across the windshield. Glad
you got home OK. Question: How come you can't mount your stock wheel on the
studs and use your lug nuts? If the lug nuts you have won't work on the studs
you can buy some that will. In fact, if the studs you have use a 14mmX1.50
thread I have some that I will give you. They may be 12mmX1.50 and if so you
can buy some lug nuts that will work.

I got a flat tire on my way home from Tulsa. I impressed myself that I had
everything to put on the spare and get home. One of those things that you don’t
think about until it happens. I hadn’t even SEEN my spare for, at least, six
years, but there it was and it even had air in it. Since my wheels now are the
five spoke mag type, I have to take out the studs and go back to the stock lug.
and there they were! They were in a plastic bag that I tied to the spare wheel!

There was a nice Oklahoma state trooper who waited until I was safely on my
way. It was a little annoying that he wanted to talk about my bus and tell his
VW stories while I worked, but he didn’t keep it up too long and went and
waited in his car.

Nice show, great weather, good people. Only drawback is they do the thing where
they show the picture of the winners on a video screen, but I have only seen
that work successfully when Tyler does it. We couldn’t wait until it worked and
had to leave.

I just rolled in from Tulsa (yeah I know it's midnight). Just wanted to let
everyone know that Denis and Brad Tripp both won trophies for their busses.
They may not even know this yet since they left early. (Tina has your
trophies by the way guys). Brad won first in a stock bus class and Denis took
a third in a modified bus class (heck, I didn't even know Murray had ever been
modified). I got a few pictures that I will share when I have time to upload
them: Some of both Brad and Denis and got a few very good ones of Howie
(that's Denis' hound dog). I'm not sure if the ones of Brad and Denis are any
good or not, I'll let you be the judge. But the ones of Howie are good. May
have something to do with the subject matter.

I'm bushed, I'm going to bed.
