I got home about 5 pm today.Very unusual Classic for
me .I had a great time but arriving late on Sat.didn't
help on the social side of things .The small amount of
time down in the snake pit I had a good time listening
and talking . Sunday was awesome but not near enough
time to see the folks I didn't get to see on Sat.
nite. Spent Sunday night in Trandy's tent(they got a
motel,it was just me in the tent)no good rumors out of
me this year, and didn't get anybody lost ,that I know
of.Woke up about six this morning ,went over and said
good bye to Teresa and Terry and Julie and Shirley and
two new bussers ans busett,They bought Michael
Everett's bus(not Smokey). Nice couple. Headed out in
an awesome overcast sky with a touch of mist . Truck
ran great all the way down and fine till Bertram which
is the home of the Oat meal festival.and about 10
miles from Georgetown. on hi way 29. I was going to
stop at a nursery there to pick up some plants.Bertram
is real small , one traffic light.I went to slow down
the truck was still doing 60 mph, even with my foot
off the separator. I broke the speed down a little but
it was a wild ride in traffic. When I got out of town
I let it run at 60.I got it to a road side park and
checked it out . I looked in the engine compartment
and couldn't really see anything I flipped the carb
linkage and it was sluggish ,but still couldn't tell
what was up. I took the floor mat out and that still
didn't help.Looked in the engine compartment again and
the return spring that had broken jumped out me like
3-d.I crimped the spring and I was on my way to Taylor
to eat the beat BBQ in the world , Headed up st.95 for
an uneventful cruise home .Can hardly wait to do it again.
