I've towed a bus like that for quite a ways, but it was a parts bus, nothing I
was worried about. then again, I've towed numerous buses the way you describe
with no issues yet. Not sure what the jackstand option is, but if you were
closer, I have a set of wide 5s I could loan you. Good luck.

How far would you? With a chain around the transaxle and the drive
axles installed?

Need tires for the Fire Bus.

The tires are approximately 30 miles away, one way. Would prefer not to
have to stab the motor for the tow just to pull it back out the same
day.

I also distrust leaving a vehicle on 4 jack stands with no wheels. That
may be the better option though. Wish I had a spare set of wide-5
wheels. I have tons of extra late bus wheels.

I think I'll jackstand it. <sigh>

Carry on,
