Grease, Grease, Grease and make sure that you have slack in the cable.

Grease the pivot, the roller and the cable.

It could also be that your accel pedal isn't lined up properly with the roller.  This can cause a stick as well.

Subject: [tcb] Throttle being weird

Sorry if you guys hate me for asking for help on my beetle, but I really trust all of you guys and your advice. Plus I think you guys know more than most other people. I have the stock Solex single carb on my beetle. The throttle sticks a little when you push down on the pedal, and even when it starts up. I tugged on the throttle lever and when you let go it goes back up into position, but not all the way. It stays open a little bit which revs the engine up slowly at a constant rate. Is my choke messing up? It's horrible cuz I'll drive it and let off the pedal but it'll still be accelerating slightly. If you tap on the accelerater really fast it'll kinda knock back into place and idle really low. Got any ideas?
