And that is the reason he missed PB. He had to raise Hershey back up. He missed
the best VW event around here, three hours from his house, because he had to
put back in the old beam.

I've know soooo many people that have bought buses, slammed the piss out of
them, then promptly sold them.
I guess they needed to sell them in order to pay for that kidney transplant.

Okay, now I think Denis can relax. There's messages on the
list now.

Sammie, Brian had indicated that he wanted to lower a 58 panel
a few weeks back. Where he got it and the details are unknown. There was
mention of a ball joint front end presumably from his departing bay... *gasp*
(batman graphics intentional)

As for the Dodge, we all know that you're posing... (Actually
I know how Sammie feels about Mopars in General so that's why the comment.)

And give your daughter back her Baja... Either
that or stop stumping for the "Chick Magnet" award at the Volks
Folks shows.. ha ha ha ;-)

                Happy now Denis?

I will now go back under the bridge looking for troll like
things to do.

what? As to a Dodge! Have never owned a Dodge and never will. Drove the Baja
to our club meeting last night; about as far from vintage original as you can
get.

                          Yes, and Corn, and ...

That's why I went "pfft" to Brian when he said that
he was going to lower a 58 with a ball joint
                          front end...

I fully expected Sammie to go ballistic and offer him
that nice Routan, er Dodge he drives around Nacogdoches in for a trade to save
the 58... ;-)

Denis, I think there's only so many discussions
around VWs. It's kinda like the Samba joke "How Do I lower my bus?" You can
only write so much on the subject.

Right now I'm contemplating culling the herd as
it were. I don't have the time and frankly my weekends are becoming more
personal time than going out and wrenching.

It's all about priorities right now and VWs
aren't the number one leisure activity for some, including me.

To elaborate: Last Week my son decided to bust a
caliper bolt and bring the fastback home on a tow truck because the ignition
quit. I think he was pensive about it because he told me about that bolt and
I told him not to drive it until repaired. Anyway, Did I work on it this
weekend? Nope.... Next weekend family is on the east coast so it'll be a
couple of weeks before I want to get greasy with it.

Right now I'm kinda "If I can't just turn the
key... It'll have to wait."

I'm also hunting for a paint job for the 63 DC
since the engine's out of it and I'm planning some diabolical mods for it.
Problem is I'm 1300 miles from it so it's difficult to get estimates done..

I'm a bit apprehensive about the facebook thing
too! Maybe because I can't get to it at work.

I think you right about the economy. People
have to pick their events carefully nowadays.

There has been almost no traffic here on the
list, and although I had a wonderful time and, financially, it was a great
success, attendance was pretty light at Psycoblooie, I am wondering if the
whole vintage VW thing is slowing down.

I guess people are hurting with the economy,
kids, and for some of us, health problems and old age are making it harder for
us all to get together, we don't have the money or the time to keep our
vehicles on the road like we used to. Some of us are even needing to sell our
cars, since they are a side interest and not a core necessity.

I guess some of us are on facebook now. I am on
it, but I don't think I like it.

                                I am still here.
