My daughter and I just got a glimpse of what is going on out I45 heading north. We drove over near the highway and as we approached there were cars parked on the sides of the road and people everywhere. The Wal-Mart parking lot was full of people that had gotten off the highway looking for gas and food. People sleeping on the grass, in tents, RV's, sitting in chairs around their cars. The parking lot was full of trash, empty bottles, you name it, it was laying around. Wal-Mart had stacked pallets and bales of cardboard in front of the doors to either guard against the storm or the people. Both lanes of I45 are northbound and are at an absolute standstill. The sides of the road is full of cars that have either run out gas, overheated or the folks have just gotten tired and have decided to wait for a while. And this is 36 hours after they started evacuating. Hopefully, the traffic will start thinning out tonight and some tankers can get in to fill the gas stations back up. My advice, stay home and batten down the hatches. Ronnie
