I am using Fatmat on my 65 now. I have used it before on other cars. I use aluminum foil tape on all the seams for the large areas if for no other reason than it looks tidy. Besides attenuating sound transmission the material also provides some additional insulation. On the sound I've determined that it dampens the sound as well as dropping the pitch, ie if you thunk your door with your knuckle you get a lower and shorter tone. The brain perceives lower tones as being associated with thicker materials. I bought additional thick padding for the doors this time. But it is a bit overpriced IMHO. And yes the next owner is probably not going to like it but my bus is not a concours piece either.
