Steve: OCTO show in CA is probably the best bus show in the world, at
least the US. But no way am I driving a stock bus from Nacogdoches to CA.
Would like to make the OCTO bus show and also go on the Treffen again this
year; but don't think I'm up to it. I've got to cut down the road miles to
have the energy to race the Vee. Guess I'm getting old.

Sammie,

G.A.S., Global Aircooled Society, founded in 2010 are from Atlanta GA.
They are expanding to other areas and now have a chapter in Texas. The
corporation putting on the Sharkapallooza also puts on the Spillout in San
Antonio as well as several other shows around.

The guys running the Texas GAS are a great bunch of guys. My main interest
is that they actually do something. They hosted the show at a local VW
dealership here in DFW area and are interested in doing events. As far as
the Sharkapalloza:
The Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch & Global Aircooled Society (G.A.S.) Brings
you the Sharkapalooza VW Experience. We'll have camping, vendors, swap meet
drum circles, live music, dj and Saturday after the Volkswagen car show a
live concert. This is a Aircooled, watercooled/Audi car show. Lots of
awards and fun. Bringing Woodstock to Texas. Gates open for camping friday
june 5, 2015 from 12pm till Sunday June 7, 2015 till noon. So come on out
and spend the weekend with us @ The Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch 11670 Massey
Rd Pilot Point, Texas 76258 and experience the Sharkapalooza VW Experience
2015.

Check us out on Facebook @ Sharkapalooza VW Experience or
http://www.sharkapaloozaexp.com

As you can see it is not an exclusive VW event however it is an event. We
need more of those. On a related note did you see that the OCTO guys in CA
are putting on their own show? Why don't you plan to drive your camper to
LA with us?

Does anyone on the list have any insight into this show coming up June
5-7. I can't really tell if it is a three-day VW show; a one-day show on
Saturday with a bunch of other activities thrown in Friday and Sunday or
what. Also; not familiar with GAS nor the individuals listed on their info
as the organizers.

I'm not particularly interested in a 3-day excursion to Pilot Point but
might be interested in attending the show portion only if it is on either
Saturday or Sunday. Their web site no the info on the Samba is not real
informative.
