Emmit did retire as a Cowboy, he signed some token deal with Jones so he could do it. Jones didn't treat Emmit well those last few years. I mean, there were billboards, direct mailings one year of "See Emmit set the record" then next year they wouldn't sign him to a decent deal. That's when he went to Phoenix. Yes, he was up there in years in terms of a RB but still he could have been treated better. That's the way Jones plays it up, whore out the situation then when the guy's done discard him by the wayside. I realize it's a business but still if you watch the HBO Inside the NFL you'd see how many serious issues the players have after they leave the game. Bankruptcies, Head Trauma and chronic obesity. For those few fleeting years of NFL action these guys give a heck of a lot. What will be sad is the lockout.. As they're saying Billionaires and Millionaires in an argument over money.
