I actually discussed, last year, with the head
of the City council and the Chief, about re-naming the park after Paul. They
said that they would have to change signs and that the Corps of Engineers
actually owned the park and was part of the flood plan...la la.

I suggested a bench or something heavy that can't
float away, and they said maybe.

This year I spoke to the Chief at the BBQ and he
said that the city had paid for the pad and fire ring and that they were
planning one new improvement a year, so I guess that they had worked stuff out
with the Corps.

I don't know how many people remember our first
year at the present site. There was NOTHING there. Before Paul got it opened
up,
there was a gate that was more or less permanently locked. Back when we were
camping at the ballparks I got lost and went down that way. I had to back out
because there wasn't even room to turn around.

I think that we can be proud that Paul created that
park.

Call the City Council President and the Chief. I
already did and they'll just think I'm a nag.

I think they should rename the park in Paul's honor.
