It is black painted steel. Is it common for the oil cooler to fail? I figure I'll replace for peace of mind. So WW makes a good repro? ----- Original Message ---- From: Will Wood <evilscientistboo@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, January 30, 2008 2:29:58 PM Subject: [tcb] Re: Oil cooler question body{font-family:Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:9pt;background-color:#ffffff;color:black;} .hmmessage P { margin:0px;padding:0px;} body.hmmessage { FONT-SIZE:10pt;FONT-FAMILY:Tahoma;} .ExternalClass DIV {} If it's steel, it's an inline and uses the smaller seals. If it's aluminum, it's a doghouse and it uses the larger 10mm size. -----Original Message----- From: ATX BUS Sent: Jan 30, 2008 3:19 PM To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [tcb] Re: Oil cooler question the oilcooler I am replacing is looks like a mini sky scraper ----- Original Message ---- From: Brian Denning <i_am_cool_fred@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, January 30, 2008 2:04:04 PM Subject: [tcb] Re: Oil cooler question my vw parts supplier in little rock (Roy Rogers) gets all there parts from WW, i haven't had a single problem wiht my cooler and it has survived 1 fire, 1 really bad overheating (someone put an external oil cooler right where the cool air goes into the shroud) and 3 rebuilds. i would say that it is a good one to have....but keep in mind mine is a doghouse style not the old style. It had a massive leak, unsure if it was the seal or the entire unit. I have noticed repros from WW and also Brazilian repros. I haven't called Black Gold but they probably sell the Brazilian model. Since access to this requires pulling the engine I want to make sure I purchase the best one I can. Any suggestion? Sorry about the Mucho Cheapo blast from earlier. I was meaning to respond to a friend about a new discount airline in Austin. Jeff __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
