Hey, this is a request for help from anyone with east coast contacts who
can keep an eye out for me (or those actually living on the east coast of
course).

My ex's car blew up and she needs to find a replacement. Cheap of course
<grin>.

She doesn't know cars and I can't help from here. She can't afford to get
something with big payments and she's losing money now not being able to
get to work.

I think she got kinda screwed on the one that just blew up. She got it
fairly cheap but dumped tons of $$ into getting the brakes and A/C
repaired and now, from her description, it popped a head gasket and
probably warped the head before she got it shut down.

Her job and credit score don't allow her to walk onto a "lot" and "drive
away today". I can't help much. Looking for under $1000. She has a few
hundred in hand. I'll be sending what I can as soon as I've paid my "first
of month" bills.

Needs to have A/C and heat that work or are inexpensively repairable. My
daughter has Cerebral Palsy and her "thermostat" is broke (her body
doesn't self-regulate temps very well -- if it's hot she spikes a fever,
if it's cold she gets hypothermic). And if she goes to far either way she
ends up having a seizure.

They live near Kilmarnock, VA

Any help appreciated. Anybody getting rid of their american iron now that
all your VW's are running good?
