Denis Dodson <coocoo@xxxxxxx> wrote: This whole Christmas discussion
started with me mouthing off about "HappyHolidays" as opposed to "Merry
Christmas". Now we got a bunch of atheists badmouthing everything! Now Mark
pipes in with Bah humbug, well I'll tell you something, Bucko! I like
Christmas! I do! And the whole Jesus thing, while being all muddled up in
history, doesn't do anybody any wrong to reflect on heaven and hell and right
and wrong and selfishness and generosity kindness and cruelty...A whole lot of
the whole world does Christmas in one form or another, be it a winter solstice
festival or a religious observance, hell if all it is is an office party, at
least in even a small way if it helps people to be a little more outside of
themselves, even for a few minutes, a little more kind, a little more generous,
then I don't care if it involves worshipping rocks or the little baby Jesus,
I'M FOR IT!

I also get lots of goodies and a cool travel experience and any excuse for
that is OK by me!

We are trying hard to get to Tokyo this Christmas, but it may be Buenos Aires
or Rio. Moscow looks too scary. It will probably be London, they do Christmas
pretty good. New York ain't bad for a very good last resort.

So get off my Christmas, Pal! and enjoy yourself Don't make me come over
there and pound some joy into your little pinheads!

  WHERE IS MY HAT?!

AND WHERE IS THE BUS FRIGGIN" CONTENT?!!!!

Bah Humbus, I think christmas has become to commercial and people expect to
much. I think all the gift giving ought to be abolished and the true meaning of
christmas brought back. just my opinion (plus, i'm cheap)

Fred McDonald <texasbluebus@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: As Denis has pointed out,
Christmas is an invention of the Catholic Church
in an attempt to stop the heathen practices of the Europeans which included
a great deal of debauchery. The earliest colonists to come to America were
radical religious zealous trying to escape the persecution of the Catholic
Church and refused to celebrate Christmas. As a child I was brought up going
to a church that emphasized Easter as the ultimate Christian holiday;
fortunately they didn't persecute it's members for celebrating Christmas. I
have always put up Christmas lights, had a Christmas tree, gave Christmas
presents, while my kids were little convinced them there was a Santa Claus,
watched "It's a Wonderful Life" "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" Dickens "A
Christmas Carol" "Merry Christmas Charlie Brown". Where the hell am I going
with this? I have no idea! Oh Yea, Merry Fn Christmas!
