Is that the one you sold to Tim??? -------------- Original message -------------- From: sammie smith <bugcollections@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> When VW came out with those things the VW dealership in Longview borrowed my survivor red 67 beetle to put on their showroom floor parked next to the new black Phaeton to look like the red beetle black Phaeton commercial that VW was running. That was one of the first Phaetons in the US and I examined it closely. Gorgeous car with an interior that rivaled that of the Mercedes, if not put it to shame. Absolutely awesome car, but to get people to pay what they wanted for them with a VW emblem on the front had to be hard. As a side: The salesmen hated my beetle sitting on their showroom floor because all of the potential customers were spending all their time looking at the 67 and the salesmen couldnt get them to look at the new stuff they were trying to sell. --- On Thu, 9/25/08, Jeff Bednar <coitspoon@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: From: Jeff Bednar <coitspoon@xxxxxxxxx> Subject: [tcb] New Addition to VW family - Phaeton To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Thursday, September 25, 2008, 9:01 PM Hey guys- I can't remember if I already posted this or not but about a month ago my dad, who lives just north of Dallas, got a "new" 2005 VW Phaeton. It was time to turn in the touareg, he flew up to MO to pick it up and drive home. It's freaking sweet - 22K miles, technology package, has everything (except the W12!) it's pretty damn fast for a huge sedan. I'll post some pix soon. -jeff PS - I'm going to get it out to a few of the shows soon. I would have to say it's the nicest thing VW produced since 1967.
