Terry: I could have been wrong about the wife. I thought John said his wife and son Tommy, but maybe not. --- On Mon, 11/28/11, theresabuckner@xxxxxxx <theresabuckner@xxxxxxx> wrote: From: theresabuckner@xxxxxxx <theresabuckner@xxxxxxx> Subject: [tcb] Re: Lyle Cherry To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Monday, November 28, 2011, 12:06 AM Sammie / TCBers I thought I heard Lyle lost his wife recently . David Garrett drove by his house as it was ablaze ( not knowing it was Lyle s ) & said he had never seen a house burn as big or bright before . I bet he had cases in garage ????? When I first heard his name , I thought it was his health . So I was greatful it was " ONLY " his house . SEE we still are thankful & blessed Things can be replaced people can t be replaced My 2 cents Terry R -----Original Message----- From: sammie smith <bugcollections@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: tcb <tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sun, Nov 27, 2011 8:29 pm Subject: [tcb] Lyle Cherry I just received a phone call from John Dietchman in Ft. Worth informing me that Lyle Cherry's house burned yesterday. He had no insurance and apparently he, his wife and son only have the clothes on their back. At any rate; John is trying to collect funds to assist Lyle and is going tomorrow to take Lyle and his family clothes shopping. I told him I would pledge $50 personally and I think the ET VEE-DUB club is going to donate another $100. I plan to take my money to John at Jack Wenks show on Sunday (Dec 4). If you do not know Lyle, his VW shop is located in North Richland Hills and he is one of the premier VW engine and transmission builders around just about anywhere and has been wrenching on VWs and supporting the hobby for at least 45 years. If you would like to do something I would suggest that you give John Dietchman a call as to how best to do it. His phone # is 817-996-8901.
