If you're looking for another spot for orienteering (for those who don't know, the annual O-Challenge was a huge draw for Bastrop, they had a really good orienteering course), Fritsche Park is a Harris County park near Tomball that has a pretty good course. Day use mainly, 91 acres, primitive camping with no amenities, but open to Scout camping. ________________________________ From: "thingmon@xxxxxxxxx" <thingmon@xxxxxxxxx> To: "tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx" <tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, January 29, 2012 1:42 PM Subject: [tcb] Re: Lost Pines cleanup Deer Run. Not a lot of traffic there yet. They've only been open for a month or so. ________________________________ From: Conrad Klahn <conradk@xxxxxxx> To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, January 29, 2012 1:39 PM Subject: [tcb] Re: Lost Pines cleanup Sounds like a good idea… I'll propose that to our troop. Where did y'all camp? Our last campout there we stayed in the primitive area off of one of the loop trails. Probably pretty soggy right now with little veg to soak in the rains.
