Everyone,

The camping trip was to cool! What a good time had by all, the fun
started right from the beginning with our small group meeting up early
Friday morning and with great excitement we headed out of Houston 6 in a
row. I didn't even mind my kids asking "when are we going to be at the
camping?" and they asked it a lot, as we drove north the sky opened up
and we had nothing but blue sky ahead. Through the rolling hills and
little towns the "prema" grin never left my face. I laugh when I think
of how cool it is traveling in a group and the politeness of our little
caravan at letting the cars pass us as we move right to the shoulder
like a rolling wave. Safely arriving at the coolest little spot called
Morgan's Point we began our camp set up and for our kids the first camp
set up ever and the hurry up lets relax began. After getting River's
bike off the top away he went round and round the circle and he's
"perma" grin began to shine as well, and Paris with her love of animals
began to search out and play with every dog in camp could not be any
happier either. I was very glad to sit down and look over the lake,
watch clouds roll by sitting next to Jennifer and have our biggest
worries in the world be "what do you want to eat?" More grinning began
to come across my face when through out the day more and more buses
began to arrive one after another, more than I've ever seen in one place
before. With a late night and an early rise we readied for the Saturday
cruise to another cool little town called Westphalia Texas where the
restaurant was surrounded by buses like a mellow bunch of bikers taking
over a small town. After making the friendly wait staff scramble around
and call out names to find out who in the heck ordered the sausage and
sauerkraut and the chicken fried steak we opening loitered around
talking and looking at all the Type II's (the kids said hi to Herbie
more than once waiting for the headlight to wink back at them) we raced
back to camp to hurry up and do nothing. Saturday night allowed us a
chance to listen to Fred and company play soft sounds on there guitars
that made it a true camping trip (One request for FREEBIRD was denied as
it was believed to be a crazy heckler). With little to no lights it was
easy to drift off to sleep with the white noise of the generators and
the sound of the wind rustling through the tent (it's amazing how tired
you get from relaxing all day). With the last day before us and the
packing up of the campground done another cool chapter was just
beginning "The Show" With the Barrette Jackson like auction by our "MC"
Paul Smith and all the good humor of all the campers the amount of money
raised put necessary money into the hand of good people how need it.
With the fun give away of trophies to all the people (and dog's) I heard
something that made me think about how really cool the bus people are,
quote by Jumping Joe: "This trophy I got today means more to me than any
other trophy I ever received" this being the trophy that went to the
person our little friend with a big heart and wonderful smile picked.
When Paris and River heard our name being picked for the best of show I
saw excitement in my families eyes that make lasting memories. The
trophy is wonderful but the feeling we get when people who love busses
say hey you have a sweet bus, is too cool! So with the bus full and our
group photo's taking we started our long journey home after stopping to
fill up our stomachs in a small town, I just had to laugh when someone
in our group (crazy heckler) asked for the 15th time if I wanted to see
his "Book "the same book I looked at on the first day, at that moment I
thought to myself the fun ain't over till it's over! The realization of
"oh no tomorrow I have to go back to work" came to me after Jennifer
and I unpacked the bus and Jennifer washed the 3" of dirt off the kids
and when I jumped in the shower to wash the dirt off myself. Jennifer
and I looked at each other with our eyes half way open limping toward
the bed (not sure where the limp came from) falling fast asleep with a
smile.

Thank you all I know I have left out way to much because we meet and
laugh with a ton of people but writing it down helps me drift away to a
cool place.

Thanks Paul Smith and Family

Thanks Kat and Dan

Thanks Mark and Em

Thanks bus people

Thanks Morgan's Point resort!

After a hour and 20 minute (supposed to be 30 minutes) drive this
morning I wish I could start last Friday over again.
