Thinking of driving the Baja and bringing a tent but I may bring the patina Westy. Sort of depends on how I feel after busting my butt with so many miles lately. I'm not too great at long distances in a splitty. Denis Dodson <coocoo@xxxxxxx> wrote: Thanks, Sammie. Denis: Put me down for one. I think anyone not up to driving to Beartrap road is a wimp. As of today in the past 3 weeks I have put 4,800+ miles (3,100 in the past 6 days) on VWs and tow trucks towing VWs to go to shows and I have another 1,600+ miles to go to get home from this one. And it ain't nearly that far to Springdale AR. We did make it to the CA Classic. Just pulled into the motel about 2 hours ago. No real problems cept sure glad I wasn't driving a bus. Through West TX yesterday we had a 60 mph headwind and it was 105 when we came through Pecos. In a splitty bus I would havew been going backwards with an overheating engine. Today was very little wind and only in the low 80s when we came through Tuscon and Phoenix. Coolest I have ever seen AZ this time of the year. I guess I need to know for planning purposes, food, toilets, power drops, etc etc.but here it starts... Who all is coming up for Psycoblooie? I now know that Mark and Emily are not coming. Peter says that he is not coming. Kurt should just come without him. Eric isn't coming because he does not understand about birth control. Poor Amy. After that, I guess that everyone that was here before and everyone they ever met will be here. Hi Denis- How about a qualified "maybe"? It all boils down to my ability to convince my 18 year old daughter that she needs to babysit her Autistic brother on a Friday night, so that I can get some traveling done on Friday day in the Santa Fe Edition Westy. Other than that, my wife will be home, and can cover the situation. But 18 year olds are pretty attached to their social lives revolving around Friday nights, so I'm gonna have to really work hard at it. So the best I can say is that I desperately want to come, but all I can assure you of is a "maybe". Sorry.
