Well, I haven't exactly been pushing it real hard.I've been doing some fuel injection tuning in anticipation of installing the EDIS ignition with the megasquirt spark control.Does that sound like I'm really trying to sell it? ----- Original Message ----- From: Eric Woodall To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Cc: <tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, November 22, 2012 10:29 AM Subject: [tcb] Re: Good ol electronic ignition So, I guess the Scirrocket didn't sell? It is temporary untill I get the edis installed.Points can be trashed and they will still get you home unlike the electronic that will leave you on the side of the road. That has happened twice so I carry a set of points and condenser as a back up. ----- Original Message ----- From: theresabuckner@xxxxxxx To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, November 22, 2012 9:27 AM Subject: [tcb] Re: Good ol electronic ignition Chuck is just being nice tiz tha season naughty & nice and all that stuff -----Original Message----- From: sammie smith <bugcollections@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: tcb <tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thu, Nov 22, 2012 9:18 am Subject: [tcb] Re: Good ol electronic ignition I'm glad one of our more knowledgeable gurus agrees with me. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Chuck Blue <sukchew@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thu, November 22, 2012 7:45:39 AM Subject: [tcb] Re: Good ol electronic ignition I'm with you Sammy.Electronic Ignition sucks. ----- Original Message ----- From: sammie smith To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, November 21, 2012 5:35 PM Subject: [tcb] Good ol electronic ignition Took the Spyder out for a cruise around the neighborhood this afternoon to look at the trees, which are gorgeous right now in Nacogdoches. A block from the house and it shut down. No fire. Yep, Beck builds these things from all new parts, including the Chinese 009 and electronic ignition. 8800 km and the thing gives up. Towed it home, put in a rebuilt German 009 with points and condensor and it cranks right up. This was the only car that I had with anything other than a German distributor and points. I have driven VWs for hundreds of thousands of miles and the only distributor failure that I have ever had was one set of broken points on a 71 super beetle that only had about 10,000 miles on it at the time. Will never own another electronic ignition equipped VW. That's my rant for the day. No virus found in this message.
