What the hell is that with electronic ignitions? I replace them after about
2-6 months. I have even had them catch fire the wire between the coil and
the distributor after months of running just fine. I have a different brand
in now, but I would never go anywhere without a set of points and a
condenser.
I do think that an screwed up wire could cause a miss or a sputter strong
enough to be felt as a vibration.
Paul you never voted on whether you think 4th of July is a good weekend for
a new show up here. We could have tech sessions at the gas station where you
chained up your trailer. It has a working lift in it now.

heck I don't know what fixed it , We had a bout a six foot lenghth of burnt wire flopping under the truck , shortting stuff out , Maybe it wore the metal down smooth and now it doen't vibrate , I really don't know /What I do know is that I felt every little change in the road and was as nervous as a blind Q****r at a weiner roast waiting for it to shake . SO life is good right now , we put points and a condenser back in , I was about to go bankrupt replaceing electronic ignitions.

That's Steve's VW repair method- I call it the Oral Roberts method. I think the car's so afraid Steve will try to work on it that it heals itself.
