The larger fighter kites are called Rokokau kits .The Chineeze would have several members on each team to see who could pull the other teams kite down first.. I think it was set in Iran or there abouts. Every Spring they have kite wars. (true story) They would soak their string in glue then run it through ground glass. Then when all the kites are flying they dive at each other trying to cross strings. The glass will cut the opponent's strings and their kites would sail away. The last kite flying wins. It's like the superbowl to them. Shops close and everybody sits on their roofs to watch. It's an all day event. Just a bit of trivia. Is it like a Kilt? a tarp? wow that is one heavy duty kite. Did you ever get into kite wars? When I was a kid we'd make kites with really sharp noses on them and rip the other kites out of the sky! Then the teachers told us not to do it any more. Damn adult authority figures!
