Story:

Got my German Pict 34 in this week that was rebuilt by Dean Elmer (guy in
Wisconsin) . I was out of town this week with the new job so this morning I
woke up to swap the carbs.... after 2 cups of Chicory Coffee I was ready.. took
the old carb off and pulled the jets out (running a 55 Pilot and a 130 Main for
the 1600DP) installed the jets and installed the carb on the manifold.

Got in the bus turned the key, nothing, no click , no sound so I went back to
the engine and fiddled with the hundreds of wires I have attached to the coil
over the years....got back in the bus, it was trying to turn over, went back
fiddled some more , got back in the bus it STARTED...... (note here to update
the bus spreadsheet : Check the wires attached to the coil and make sure they
are not loose)

Anyway, Let the bus run for about 10 minutes, you could tell the choke was
working then after the idle died down some it was running ok, not great.... the
Fork in the road is the dreaded (adjusting the carb ) or leave it along. At
least it is for me....... last time I turned the wrong screws (got them mixed
up) why don't they just say the top screw and the bottom screw not the volume
this or bypass that... ( Mark S. and Mark J. had to come save me a couple of
weeks ago)

15 minutes later: After reading and re-reading the directions, I'm tempted to
go outside and give it a try at adjusting ..... or maybe I'll leave the fork
along and let someone else come along and pick it up...

Stay tuned.........

Trey (at the fork in the road in Sugar Land....)

PS I wonder if I can make it over to Kermits before 2 pm...
