Well..I brought my old distributor cap to the vw shop. THe guy told me i had a
warped distributor since the rotor was scratching the side of the plastic
around 1234 terminals. This was the cap on the old points distributor. So i
took out the old distributor and the slot end of it that goes in the
motor..wobbled around and was loose.(what caused this..worn out bushing on the
dist?) anyways..installed the elec conversion kit on the new
distributor...rotor still didnt fit right..then i took a socket..and placed it
over the elec wheel and pushed as hard as i could with my hands ..put the rotor
on.....stabbed it in the motor..and voila..idles like a bmw..well not
quite..but runs good now..thanks for the help.

called EMpi..empi said i had to press real hard to crunch down on the ridges
inside the wheel..(didnt say that in the directions!)
I saw a discussion on the samba..empi parts are kindajunky? what do u guys
recommend for vw parts?
