Peter: Got the patina 66 Westy out the other day for some attention to detail
in preparation for the trip to Bulli Gras. Did a few things like LUBE THE
FRONT SUSPENSION, but best part drove it around for awhile just to give it some
road test. DRIVING an original VW like this is like taking 40 years off of
your life. Sort of like relaxing and listening to 50s/60s music. And no
disrespect intended, but it ain't the same thing driving a slammed big engine
cal-look rat rod; I know, I have some of those too. So Peter is 100% correct,
get that thing out and drive it. Heck, I bet Peter loved that drive so much
the price of the DC just doubled.

Some of you are bumming about my considering selling the DC, so I thought I'd
let you know that I drove him to work today. It's been a while since I've done
this, and ohhhhhh did it bring back driving my '62 every day for 5 1/2 years.
I'll be doing this more often now with whichever Bus.
